What Is Telehealth?
Telehealth, commonly referred to as telemedicine, allows our mental health care providers to provide you with treatment without an in-person office visit. Telehealth is done primarily online with internet access on your computer, laptop, smartphone, or tablet. Through telehealth, you can speak with your provider over the phone or via video chat and send and receive messages from your healthcare provider using secure messaging, emails, secure messaging, and secure file exchange applications.
Telehealth can also help your provider check on you while at home, tracking your progress throughout your treatment plan. We offer extensive psychiatric care services, including psychotherapy for treating an array of psychiatric conditions, including post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), bipolar disorders, anxiety disorders, schizophrenia, ADHD, schizoaffective disorder, depression, and stress management. We currently do not offer buprenorphine services via telehealth, as we feel regulatory concerns, but we do offer this on site at one of our treatment centers. Review our frequently asked questions about telehealth and call our office for additional information about our telehealth services and our encompassing range of treatments.
Benefits Of Telehealth Therapy
With telehealth and teletherapy, you can reap the benefits of convenience, flexibility, discretion, availability, and cost savings through eliminating transportation costs, childcare costs, and less time away from work, plus so much more. Consider the following benefits of telehealth therapy for addiction recovery from Buprenorphine Treatment Centers, Inc.
Patient Discretion
Our telehealth services provide exactly what our patients need to feel comfortable and secure in familiar surroundings, allowing them to feel open and comfortable coming to us with any concerns they may have during their treatment. Telehealth plans provide patients with a high level of privacy that encourages a free flow of communication and the utmost discretion throughout their recovery process.
Instant Access To Our Team
Patients with telehealth outpatient treatment have nearly immediate access to our team. Outpatient telehealth prevents delays, confusion, and uneasiness that some patients might feel when seeking help and going to an in-person treatment facility. Our remote treatment services provide patients with quick access to the care they need without the common entry barriers associated with office visits.
Access To Care For Non-Commuters
For many people, a significant aspect of their hesitation to undergo treatment for their addiction is commuting. Some patients may be unable to commute due to a congenital or acquired medical condition, while others may live hours away from their nearest treatment facility. This can create yet another barrier to entry for patients seeking to start to continue their treatment. Telehealth reduces this by eliminating the need to commute.
Greater Flexibility For Patients
Many of us have schedules that don’t allow any time for in-office appointments. Early mornings, late afternoons, and other times when traditional treatment services are limited may be more widely accessible for patients undergoing treatment through telehealth. Whether a patient cannot leave campus or their workplace or is a primary caretaker of a child or an elderly parent and cannot attend in-person visits, telehealth offers a great alternative.
How Does Telehealth Treatment Work?
Teletherapy and behavioral health interventions can be part of an integrated approach to treating substance use disorders and is especially helpful when combined with other treatment methods. Telehealth can include screening, evaluations, and diagnosis, online therapy and counseling, and individual and group psychotherapy sessions with a psychiatrist in our practice. Mental health therapy via telehealth usually occurs in multiple steps, but these vary depending on your individual needs.
Your program may include a customized outpatient treatment program, an in-person intensive outpatient program, and/or telemedicine and treatment, or a combination of these. The first step for patients starting telehealth treatment is an assessment/evaluation. Get started with your telehealth treatment plan today, and Contact Buprenorphine Treatment Centers, Inc!
